Most people who want to get organized don’t know where to begin. If there are several areas of your home you wish to organize, I advise people to start small. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed when there are lots of areas in your home that needs to be decluttered. Allow yourself to accomplish each area of your home slowly.
Starting small gives you a feeling of accomplishment. Choose a drawer in your kitchen, bathroom or even drawers in a bedroom dresser. After you’ve organized this drawer or drawers make a promise to yourself that from now on you will keep this area organized.
Another important aspect of decluttering your home is to minimize what you purchase and bring into your home. For example, whenever you buy a new pair of shoes, piece of clothing, book, gadget, toy, or whatever, get rid of an old one. This habit alone can put an end to clutter creep.
